Set in 82 acres of sloping parkland, the Zoo is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre.
Apart from getting close to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, there are many different ways to enjoy your day out.

Twycross Zoo opened in 1963 on a site in Leicestershire. Initially a comparatively modest collection, it has grown into one of the major British zoos, attracting over 450,000 visitors a year. It is famous for its collection of primates. Situated near the small village of Twycross, the zoo occupies over 40 acres and is set in open countryside. Despite its rural location, it is only four miles from the M42/A42 (which links the M1 and M6) making it readily accessible from anywhere in central England.
This is a great park - the staff are polite, and knowledgeable. The Lemur Walk is amazing - go visit.
This charity rescue is open to the public, is clean, well set out and a delight to visit. Please do support this project.

There is a superb nature reserve and trail with bird watching hides and viewpoints, a visitor area with gift shop and a tearoom with terrace - not to mention the play area! Blackbrook Zoo, Staffordshire. Home to the largest bird collection in the UK, Blackbrook is internationally renowned for it’s achievements in breeding some of the world’s rarest birds. Cricket St Thomas, Somerset: One of our aims is to create environments in which animals can behave as naturally as possible. New exhibits are designed to allow the animals to express natural behaviours seen in the wild. Visit Lemur Wood the UK's biggest walk through lemur exhibit or ride through the Wildlife Valley on the Safari Train. Well worth visiting !! Chestnut Conservation Centre, High Peak, Derbyshire.
