PLACE TO VISIT:

        Zoos and Parks:

Animalarium - We are a small Zoo in mid-Wales, we like to offer a home to unwanted Zoo animals and exotic pets. Even our African Leopard was a unwanted pet!   A great day out.

Edinburgh Zoo is owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. The Society was founded in March 1909, and the Zoo opened in July 1913.

Set in 82 acres of sloping parkland, the Zoo is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre.

Apart from getting close to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, there are many different ways to enjoy your day out.

CHESTER ZOO is the UK’s number one zoo, with over 7000 animals and 400 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. With more than one million visitors every year, the Zoo is an all-year round favourite attraction for kids of all ages!

Hampshire.  There are over 200 species of animals at Marwell Zoological Park, from tiny ants to the tallest giraffe, set in 100 acres of beautiful Hampshire parkland.

Awarded ‘Zoo of the Year 2004’ by the Good Britain Guide, Bristol Zoo Gardens has a continuous reputation for excellence, innovation, and dedication to conservation. It’s the fifth oldest zoo in the world and the oldest outside of a capital city, and a long established major tourist attraction in Bristol.

Twycross Zoo opened in 1963 on a site in Leicestershire. Initially a comparatively modest collection, it has grown into one of the major British zoos, attracting over 450,000 visitors a year. It is famous for its collection of primates.

Situated near the small village of Twycross, the zoo occupies over 40 acres and is set in open countryside. Despite its rural location, it is only four miles from the M42/A42 (which links the M1 and M6) making it readily accessible from anywhere in central England.

Doncaster, Yorkshire.  This is a unique place where animals have the space to roam, fun and excitement for families to share and an exciting vision for future development to support conservation around the world.

This is a great park - the staff are polite, and knowledgeable.  The Lemur Walk is amazing - go visit.

Chard, Somerset.  We accept any animal whose life is in danger and for whom we have room. We actively seek caring homes for cats and dogs within a 30 mile radius of the Sanctuary.  Our other residents, which range from cows to chipmunks are not re-homed and stay with us for the rest of their lives. No animal is ever put to sleep unless our vet advises that its quality of life is no longer viable.

This charity rescue is open to the public, is clean, well set out and a delight to visit.  Please do support this project.

Torquay, Devon.  Living Coasts, Torquay's Coastal Zoo, is a unique, world class aquatic visitor attraction, focusing on the conservation of coastal and marine life around the globe. It has been developed by Paignton Zoo, with financial support from the South West Regional Development Agency and the European Regional Development funds.
